(from chapter “SEQUENTIAL DIRECTIONS AND EXPRESSIVE CHOICE”) The expressive-significant value inherent to perception, so far focused on appearance or image of the sign's result, can now be codified - by sequentialist syntax - through the spatio-temporal information of sign's path. Is
thus reorganized, in three consequential levels, the linguistic context
in which it operates the artistic message: In the figurative artwork the message runs in the last level, the third, which conceals inside “speechless” the first two. In the abstract artwork, instead, the message moves to the second level, the plastic one, freeing its voice from apparent references. With the sequentialist artwork we explore the first level, at the origin, in which the message coincides with the primary essence of the movement - the spatio-temporal energy-information -, and in which communicates the interaction between the sequential expressive direction about artist's gesture and the sequential expressive direction about observer's perception. |
